Every server is built to order in a UK datacentre, with no minimum contract term and no setup fee.

Everyday dedicated servers

These are the servers most businesses want. Single socket machines with fast clock speeds, suited to websites, e-commerce stores, databases and application hosting where responsiveness matters more than raw core count.

High performance and specialist servers

Built for workloads that need many cores, large amounts of memory or a lot of disks. Virtualisation hosts, busy database servers, analytics and anything where you are consolidating several machines onto one.

The DP1 is the entry point here rather than the cheapest machine overall. It costs less per month than the DS3 but takes eight drives, up to 512 GB of memory and a second processor, so it is the right starting point when you are sizing for capacity rather than speed.

Configure exactly what you need

Every specification shown above is a starting point. Processor, memory, drives and RAID level, network port speed and bandwidth allowance, IP allocation, backup space, DDoS protection and firewall are all selectable when you order, and the price updates as you choose. Nothing is bundled in that you have to pay for and will not use.

If the configuration you want is not offered, tell us what you need and we will price it. Hardware can be upgraded later without a rebuild in most cases.

Operating system and control panel

AlmaLinux and Rocky Linux are our usual recommendations, and Ubuntu, Debian, CentOS Stream and Proxmox VE are all available at no extra cost. CloudLinux is available as a paid option where you are hosting sites for other people and want per account resource limits.

For a control panel we recommend cPanel. It is the market leading choice for good reasons and it is easily worth the additional cost. Plesk and DirectAdmin are both available, as are LiteSpeed, Imunify360, JetBackup and Veeam licences. If you intend to host sites for other people, cPanel with WHM is effectively a requirement rather than a preference.

Managed or unmanaged

Every server includes Foundation management, which covers the hardware, the network and a 20 minute response to critical tickets. Beyond that the operating system is your responsibility: updates, security patching, firewall configuration, backups and monitoring. That is the right choice if you have someone who knows Linux administration and has the time for it.

Enhanced and Ultimate management take that work on for you, adding proactive monitoring, software updates and faster response and hardware replacement times. Most businesses taking their first dedicated server want one of these, because the reason for moving is usually capacity rather than a wish to administer hardware. An unpatched server is less secure than the shared hosting it replaced, so this decision is worth making deliberately.

Migration

We handle migrations onto dedicated servers regularly, including from other providers. Sites are moved, tested and verified before DNS is changed, so the switch happens when you are satisfied rather than when the copy finishes.
