Who Writes the Havenswift Hosting Blog

Articles on the Havenswift Hosting blog are written by the people who run our servers and build our software, and are published under the company account rather than under individual names.

That is a deliberate choice. Posts are often written by one person, checked by another and updated later by whoever next works on that subject, so attributing them to a single author would be misleading.

What we write about

The subjects follow the work rather than a content calendar.

  • CubeCart features, releases and configuration, including the plugins and skins we develop ourselves
  • WordPress and WooCommerce, particularly the performance and security questions that come up repeatedly
  • E-commerce practicalities: shipping, payment gateways, tax, and the things that quietly cost stores money
  • Website security, based on the compromises we actually deal with rather than on general advice
  • Hosting and server topics, explained for site owners rather than for administrators

How the articles get written

Most of them start as a support ticket. When the same question arrives more than a couple of times, or when the answer turns out to be longer and more interesting than expected, it becomes an article.

The consequence is that the writing tends towards the practical, and towards saying when something does not work well. That includes products we sell. A recommendation is worth very little if it never comes with the situations where it is the wrong choice.

Suggest a subject

If there is something you would like covered, or a question you have not found a decent answer to elsewhere, tell us and we will look at writing it up. Customers can raise it on a support ticket, and anyone else is welcome to get in touch.
