We take care of the technical side of running your store so that you can concentrate on running your business. This is the right plan if you want a shop rather than a server to look after.

What we manage for you

• Installation. We install the current release of CubeCart and carry out the initial configuration.
• Core upgrades. When a new CubeCart version is released we apply it, including checking that your skin and plugins are compatible first.
• Plugin and skin upgrades. Kept current alongside the core, rather than left until something breaks.
• Security patches. If a critical fix is released for individual files, we apply it without waiting for the next full version.
• Full CubeCart support as well as the usual hosting support, so questions about the software itself are covered too.
• Backups, taken and monitored, so that a restore is a request rather than a project.

Why upgrades are the point

The single most common reason a CubeCart store ends up in trouble is that upgrades were deferred. Each one skipped makes the next one larger, until eventually the store is several major versions behind, running on a PHP version that is no longer supported, with plugins that will not work on anything current.

Getting out of that position costs considerably more than staying current would have done. On a fully managed plan it simply does not happen, because the upgrades are our job rather than a task on your list.

Performance

Our servers run current, supported PHP versions with opcode caching enabled, which makes a substantial difference to how quickly pages are generated. Memcached and Redis object caching are available on certain plans and are considerably faster than the standard file based cache, particularly on stores with large catalogues.

The servers are tuned for e-commerce database workloads specifically, and are not oversold.

How access works

Access to cPanel is not provided on fully managed plans, which is what allows us to guarantee the state of the installation. Skins and plugins are installed through the CubeCart Extension Marketplace from within the store admin.

On request we can provide up to two FTP accounts with access restricted to the skins and images directories. That allows a designer to customise a skin, and lets you upload images manually when you need to, without exposing the rest of the installation.

If you would rather have full cPanel access and manage upgrades yourself, our self-managed CubeCart hosting is the plan to look at instead. Both run on the same servers.

Moving an existing store

Migrations are free and we do them regularly. We copy the store across, get it working, bring it up to date, and let you test it properly. DNS changes only when you are satisfied, so nothing goes live until you say so.

Prices are shown below for yearly and monthly payment. Quarterly is also available, and paying annually gives a significant saving over monthly.
