Shared hosting is set up immediately, automatically, as soon as payment has cleared and the order has passed our fraud checks. Your welcome email with the details follows within moments.
What can hold it up
- The payment not clearing. Card payments are usually instant; bank transfers depend on your bank.
- Our fraud checks. Automated, and they occasionally flag a legitimate order – most often where the card's registered address does not match the address on the account. Making sure those match avoids nearly all delays.
- Items needing manual setup. Some products are provisioned by hand rather than automatically.
Manually provisioned items
We aim to complete these within 24 hours and are usually a good deal quicker in working hours. You are notified by email when it is done. If something is urgent, say so in a ticket when you order and we will do what we can.
Once it is set up
The account is ready to use straight away – you can log in to cPanel, create mailboxes and upload files before the domain points here. See Your first steps after signing up.
If nothing has arrived
Check your spam folder first; welcome emails contain login details and are occasionally filtered. If it is genuinely not there, log in to the client area – if the service shows as Active, it is set up and you can reach cPanel from there regardless of the email.
